The Industrial Fabrics Association International’s (IFAI) textile trade event, IFAI Expo 2015, took place Oct. 6-9, 2015 in Anaheim, CA. During the Expo, the annual International Achievement Awards were announced with 61 awards from 29 categories. Condit received an award in the Tent Manufacturing & Design category for its design and fabrication of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships – Platinum/Gold VIP Structure.
The 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships were held from February 2–15 in Vail / Beaver Creek, CO. Second only to the Olympics, this event is one of the most exalted alpine ski competitions in the world.
Condit’s project was a two-story steel frame structure with a thermal inflatable roof. The structure’s span included 21,500 sq. feet of interior space with an additional 16,500 exterior decking. The structure was used as a VIP facility and included custom restrooms, catering kitchens, natural gas as the heating source, extensive lighting, custom furnishing and flooring, and themed entertainment and food & beverage areas throughout the building.
