Objective
Tell a compelling, memorable story about Crested Butte in a museum set in an historic old gas station. The goal was to encourage tourism and develop an appreciation of the town's evolution from an old mining town to a popular Colorado vacation destination.  

Solution
A visually rich display hauntingly depicts hardships faced by women in the town's early history; and a mockup coal mine featuring dirty miners and a coal railway disappearing into darkness captures Crested Butte's stark mining history. Visitors are brought up to date through an illuminating interactive map detailing the ski resort's development.
