Objective
Within a very limited space, NCAR sought
to create a three-part exhibit that would
educate visitors about past
and future effects of climate change. The display needed
to be very
visual, interactive and educational--while addressing such practical concerns
as
durability and cost.
Solution
Condit used a store fixturing system as
a centerpiece to accommodate changing exhibit items. Utilizing adjustable
aluminum poles, the entire exhibit--painted like an evening
sky--seems
to float off the wall. Plasma
screens and maps display information about the sun and earth, while parabolic
speakers lessen sound bleed to other rooms.
